New Year, New You ~ Embrace Thoughts, Beliefs & Actions that Align with Your Best Self

Happy New Year, 2023

The new year is often a time to reflect on the past year and think about what we want to do, be or have in the year ahead. It inspires us to consider new prospects and an opportunity to begin again, such as the feeling one gets when one opens a new journal or on the first day of a school year. It evokes anticipation of possibilities and a determination to align with more of what delights and inspires us. Many set intentions, make resolutions, and even create vision boards. We want aspects of our lives to be different. We may want to improve our health, increase our finances, enjoy more loving relationships, etc.

For the past few years, my husband and I have enjoyed a releasing ceremony, where we write down all that we want to let go of and burn it. After some prayer and letting go, we write our intentions for the new year. This writing we keep. I like to post it to see it as a reminder of what I’m inspired to call into my life in the coming year.

However, I know that for any aspect of my life to be different, I must change my perception of myself and the world I live in. In other words, I have to change my thoughts, self-beliefs, and behaviors to be the person who lives this sought-after life experience. When I begin to see myself living this life, it begins to take form. I focus on how it feels, how it looks, how I carry myself, my daily practices, etc. This process is at the core of all my sustainable changes. As a result, today, I enjoy a slim, healthy body, loving, supportive relationships, and more freedom than I have ever experienced.

So, if you consider what you want to change this year, ask yourself this critical question. Whom do I have to be to have the life I long for? For example, if you want to cultivate habits that support better health, your beliefs and perceptions of yourself and your actions must change. You must embrace thoughts, beliefs, and actions that align with being healthier.

Remember, our beliefs create our reality. And a belief is only a thought you keep thinking. Yes, many of the beliefs you hold can be unconscious. However, considering the thoughts and beliefs you would hold if you were living, the experience you are longing for will often shed light on the unconscious thought patterns that got you where you are right now. Do not use this information to beat yourself up. This practice illuminates your shadow parts to evolve fully and fully realize your fantastic self.

The best way to do this is to create belief statements that align with your goals. Consistently repeating these statements will change the neuro structure of your brain. If you are persistent before you know it, you are on your way to becoming healthier, enjoying loving relationships, and having more prosperity and abundance in all areas of your life. So, what beliefs would you have to be someone with better health, more abundance, and loving relationships? What would your days be like? How would you dress, talk, walk, and feel? Step into being that person.

Of all the beliefs I have crafted and repeated in my transformation process, the belief that “I am enough” has brought about the most significant change. I see this in my life and with the many clients, I have worked with.

So many of us walk around undermining ourselves, apologizing, and treating ourselves like second-class citizens because somewhere, we decided we weren’t enough. Regardless of how or why you learned this, it is NOT the truth! You are indeed enough, and the more you affirm this, the more you will live a life that resembles the person who believes that they are truly enough.

You were created out of pure love; as a newborn, you knew you were enough. Growing up, you might have learned otherwise; however, it’s time to remember this simple, profound truth: YOU ARE ENOUGH.

As you consider what you’d like to bring into your life this new year, I encourage you to begin affirming “I am enough” or a variation of this belief that resonates with you. Every morning, noon, and night, say this to yourself, write it in your journal, and put sticky notes around your house and in your mirror. Behave as if you are enough. Go ahead and give it a try. I am sure that your life will improve.

I’d love to hear how this goes for you!

I wish you much love and many blessings this new year and beyond.

Love,

Maria
